Under The Tuscan Gun

Every week new, fresh, healthy, traditional Tuscan recipes...delivered!

THANK YOU ALL!!!

Debi and I would like to that you all for the incredible support!

The feedback we are getting on this little website of ours is incredible, and we both are happy and a bit stunned, since we are self producing every aspect of it, and we started it just for fun...to share with friends.

We are currently experiencing an average of 900 hits a day,
with a peak yesterday of about 1400 pages viewed...
As of now we only have 10 pages published.

Again, we are not professional bloggers,
we are just happy at the idea that somebody might be cooking our recipe tonight!

Thank You again,
so very much.

At The Groceries Store

I was grocery shopping today,
and passed by the magazine's isle...
Debi has been mentioning a cookbok for a while now...she says we need to look at it for research...you know, the competition.
I won't mention the title of the book, or the author fot that matter, as I am going to diss it in a few lines... Read More...

It used to be: "Tuscan Cook Book For The Pregnant Male"...

I need to tell you a few things about getting ready to cook Tuscan food...

I started writing this "cook book" over five years ago, when Deb got pregnant with Evelina.

The original Title was "Tuscan Cook Book: For The Pregnant Male".
It was my intention to reach out to all the young new parents of my generation, especially men that do not cook habitually, and share everything I know...everything I feed my family with...explain how easy it is, how natural, how healthy....

I will let Deb tell you the story on how we ended up deciding to be in control of our creativity and do everything on our own...I'm sure her story will come out very entertaining!

I am posting here three general rules that I always follow when I approach a new recipe, and how I interpret the kitchen I am cooking in: I hope this post will be useful.

How To Cook Pasta!!!

Cooking pasta is a really easy task...
But there are a couple of things that can kill your dish in just a hot second, like overcooking it, or using too much salt in the water...and no, adding olive oil to the water does not prevent the pieces of pasta from getting stuck together.
The first step is to buy the right pasta...in your grocery store you will probably find about a 1/4 of an isle dedicated Read More...

Let Me Introduce Myself...

I was born and raised in Fiesole, a small town village on the hills right above Florence...in the heart of Tuscany.
Since I can remember, it has always been about food!
My great grandma, my grandma, and in the following years my mother...of all the sweet things that one can remember of his early youth, well...the kitchen table and the dining room, and everything that can happen when you let those women alone in front of a stove.

Needless to say...I can cook! Like most of Italian men, I lived with my parents long enough to learn a few tricks in the kitchen....
